My sister's house is now on its culmination. We are all proud of her as this is the result of her hard work abroad. One thing that is so exciting about the house is the vintage and classic look that she has always dreamt about. It is quite huge as we are a big family and she expects all the family’s activities and affairs be done there even as she continues working overseas. This is our first Christmas together as a married couple, so I decided that we should do something extra special for our first Christmas tree together. The one thing that I had in mind was using a whole bunch of ornaments that mean something really special to each and every one of us. We met at college, so one thing that I knew would be a sure bet is a whole bunch of ornaments that show our team spirit.

I am so glad that I visited one of the very popular Christmas exhibits when I came to our hometown. One could see that organizers made a big deal out of how a Trade show booth should look like. Hi everyone!!! Sorry for not updating this blog again. I've been very busy these past few weeks. I just started with my new job and I'm now working 5-6 days a week depending on the mail volume we get everyday. And aside from that, hubby and I are also busy with our new investment. My little daughter has always been a fan of stuffed toys and dolls that she calls them her babies. I sometimes see myself in her shoes whenever she plays house with them. Also, I can see that she is learning a lot of skills and behaviors that can be very positive towards her growth. Her ability to care and prepare for her own things and tidying up her mess after a play are simple but valuable skills for life. She has also starts to be responsible as she packs her things up and also tell her other playmates to do the same.

Because of such positive developments, it is just but fitting to give her a reward. I and her daddy are planning to give her an 18 inch doll this Christmas. Aside from reinforcing her positive behavior, special presents will make her remember of the reasons why we gave her such a special gift. This will encourage her to repeat what she learned. Her being responsible is something that we would want her to continue in life. It is such a joy that she is being trained while enjoying her play!

The Windshield Wiper Movie

Last night in my dire need to fall asleep I decided to scan our enclosure for new movies, figure instead of watching nonsense television shows might as well watch a movie. My attention was caught by a file entitled “Flash of Genius”. It was my first time to encounter such film so I got curious. Decided to watch it, although the movie was a little bit dragging I loved it anyway.

Let me give you a very short synopsis of the movie. I don’t know if you have heard of it already, I surely haven’t. The movie’s lead star Greg Kinear plays Robert Kearns, also from movies like You’ve got mail, We Were Soldiers, and The Last Song to name a few. This movie was actually based on a true story. As title of the article suggests Kearns who is an engineering professor, married and with six children had an epiphany one day while driving his ford galaxie one rainy morning. He was bothered by his cars windshield wipers because of its constant movement. So he decided to come up with a mechanism which will make the windshield move just like how the human eye moves. So he did and eventually presented it to Ford who were then working on the same project but were not successful. Ford was interested with his invention and asked him to present to them a business plan. But afterwards Ford did not contact him then he later found out that they actually used his idea and claimed it as theirs. To cut the story short a case was filed against the motor company who at first asked to settle for $30 million and just forget everything. But Kearns was firm and did not accept the money. Instead he represented himself in court and actually won the case and received $10 million and later got a deal from Chrysler who paid him $18 million.

It was interesting movie and quite inspiring. And just this morning I received an e-mail from a friend in Arizona telling me about his car, what a coincidence he was also talking about this certain Windshield Replacement Phoenix Company. I have had enough of credit collection bastards. They always had the ugly wit to get what they want at anytime and anywhere they want. I could not forget how one of them went straight to my workplace to collect a day overdue of my refrigerator’s installment fee. It was humiliating for me and for that collector as well. I let him learn a lesson by filing a complaint. Although I do not know what happened to it, but I sure made it a point to him that there is something that I could do against the abuse.

I am so proud of my cousin. He got another award for academic excellence. He's been a straight A student since Kindergarten and continues to excel not only in academics but on his extra curricular activities as well. He plays the piano, the guitar, and he's very good in tennis and basketball too. You can really tell that he has a bright future ahead of him. Should we Buy Asus Transformer or just upgrade our iPad to the latest model? That's what hubby and I contemplated a few months ago before we finally decided on the new iPad. This is me and my son Jaden petting a horse at Fielding Garr Ranch. We went there last July 5 to do some sightseeing and horseback riding. But unfortunately, we didn't get to do the latter because the horses were already fully booked that day. Oh my gosh! I think we just made history for eating too much buffet food today! LOL! MIL's friend invited us for lunch at the Carnival World Buffet in Rio Hotel and then after that we went to another hotel to meet up with hubby's uncle who's based here in Las Vegas. Well, what do you know? He treated us to another buffet food extravaganza! I can barely carry myself out of the restaurant after our dinner. Haha! When we bought our new home last summer I never realized we’d have to put so much money into it to get it the way we wanted it. Since it was new construction I figured we’d move right in and everything would be perfect but that was definitely not the case! The first thing we did was install a fence for the dog so he wouldn’t run out of the yard and then we had to pay to have the countertops replaced with granite, but that was something we knew we’d have to do. It's called the Silly Parts Talking Elmo Potato Head Doll Toy from Mattel and it originally cost around $70 but since it's a donation, I got it for only $2! Awesome deal, right? It's about 8 inches tall and comes with dress up accessories which will turn Elmo into a rooster, elephant, pig and a funny old man with a vest and bow tie just like the one on the picture above. And for added fun, Elmo also talks when you attach and detach the parts. It's really cute I tell you! Keeping In Touch With a Friend

I just finished chatting with my dear friend who recently moved to Connecticut with her husband and kids. She said they are doing okay and that they are starting to settle in. The only problem is, her husband who is in the airforce, is scheduled to leave again by the end of this month. That means she will be left alone to unpack the rest of their belongings and turn their new abode into a home sweet home. Add to that three hyper kids who loves to run and jump around. I know it sounds crazy but I know she will manage. She always does. I'm really happy for my friend Francis. I saw him at the store buying business office supplies the other day and we were able to catch up with the latest happenings in our lives. Francis started a taxi service two years ago in Park City and he was happy to share the news that he's starting to reap all the fruits of his labor and hard work. The first year had been tough for him because he had to sacrifice his day job just to concentrate on his new business venture. But thank God all his efforts are paying off now. I am forever thankful of my sister-in-law who takes care of my daughter whenever I am on my online tutorial job. She is still in her teens but she did not hesitate on helping me look after my child since my husband is working abroad. We have a very good relationship together. I help her with her projects, and as a result, she became one of the top students in their class. Moreover, one of the proudest things I did in gratitude to her is locating the best acne treatment around. I have never felt so good then that I have helped her raise her self-esteem after the wonderful outcome of the said treatment!

Bulging Belly

Do you know any trick on how to lose belly fat without working out yourself to death? LOL! I know... I'm always looking for an easy way out. I hate looking at my bulging belly but it's ironic because no matter how ugly it looks, I still don't get motivated to exercise. I have seen a lot of great ab workouts but none of them looked promising as much as the ab rocket and the ab circle pro exercises. These equipment really target the abs and if you strictly follow the program and compliment it with the proper meal plan, you will eventually achieve that 6-pack abs you've been dreaming of. I've used canon printers as well as hp printers and epson printers but I have never tried using brother printers yet. Perhaps because it is not that popular compared to the leading printer brand names. But who knows, one of these days, I might give it a try and see for myself if it has the potential to create a big name in the printing industry.

Looking and Feeling Good

Aside from getting back into shape this year, one of my resolutions is to take extra care of myself so I'll look good and feel good all the time. I promised to stick to my beauty regimen and use those body scrubs, moisturizers and jars of face cream I got from friends last Christmas. That way I can keep my youthful look (eheem!) even when I turn another year older this year. ;)

Thank goodness for room heaters! Now we don't have to worry about keeping warm this entire winter season as well as keeping our power consumption to a minimum. Thanks to our trusty heaters! And because they are portable, we can easily move them from one room to another. I also like the fact that they come with an automatic thermostat so that I don't need to adjust them when the temp rises or drops. And the built-in ionizer is also a big bonus because not only it warms the room, it also cleans the air.

My Super Friend

A thoughtful friend is hard to come by these days. That's why I am so glad I found Vicky. She's one of the nicest, the kindest, and the most thoughtful person I've ever known in my whole life. Last Christmas, she hosted our annual party and about fifty people attended the said event. She prepared the food, the decorations and didn't even bother to ask for our help to do the clean up right after the party. And three days after, we all got personalized note cards from her thanking us for attending the party. Wow! I wish I can find more friends like her. She's truly a gem and one that's worth keeping for life!
