As per PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION NO. 115-A, March is observed to be the FIRE PREVENTION MONTH here in the
March is the month of Hot/Dry Season. This means that our environment is conducive to fire. To minimize, if not eliminated, the incidents of fire let us all help one another to spread these information and make more campaigns to let the public become more cautious.
The following are some fire prevention tips listed by the BFP:

- Crush cigarette butts thoroughly before discarding them. Do not throw butts into the waste basket. Always have ashtray available in your home.
- Keep matches & lighter away from the reach of children.
- Do not set the candle/lamp too close to the curtain.
- Never read in bed by candle or lamp.
- Do not leave a burning candle unattended.
- Check LPG, kerosene and oil stove regularly for leakage and defects.
- Don't leave the stove while cooking and always turn it off after use.
- Do not keep flammable substances in the kitchen.
- Don't heat wax, paints and other polishing substances over open flames.
- Check your kitchen before going to sleep
- Unplug electrical appliance after use.
- Don't replace blown fused with tin foil, wire or metal to short circuit the current. Used only approved and standard fused.
- Avoid the use of illegal electrical connections (jumpers)
